WEEK 2

For this week’s assignment, I was inspired by a scene from the children’s book Zack’s Alligator. It’s the story of a boy who gets a keychain alligator that grows to scale when watered. In the scene I chose, Zack has taken Bridget the alligator out for a walk, and they end up in a park where they ride a carousel.

I began by figuring out the circuit path first, and then laying it out with conductive tape. I had some issues at first because I did one too many columns, and the last one was making the electricity flow escape and not loop around to close the circuit.

After that was done, I focused on decorating the scene and cutting out the characters. I took some creative liberties in the reconstruction of the scene, so the elements don’t exactly match the ones in the book.

And finally, the carousel comes alive by closing the circuit :)
